Federal Areas of Responsibility

As Oshawa's federal Member of Parliament, one of my roles is to help our constituents navigate the often daunting maze of federal departments, programs or services.

My staff and I are able to assist you with:

Provincial Areas of Responsibility

The Ontario provincial government and Oshawa's provincial Member of Parliament are responsible for services such as health care, education, social services, landlord and tenant issues, Ontario Works, ODSP, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), birth, marriage or death certificates, and other matters including provincially-owned and operated highways.

If your matter falls under provincial jurisdiction, you must contact Oshawa's Member of Provincial Parliament.

City of Oshawa or Durham Region Areas of Responsibility

The City of Oshawa, the Region of Durham, Oshawa's Mayor and your City or Regional Councillors are responsible for local community needs including: Social services, fire protection, policing, local road maintenance, property standards, local by-law enforcement, animal control, Durham Region Transit, snow removal, waste collection, recreation, trails and parks maintenance, and property taxes.

If your matter falls under municipal jurisdiction, you're advised to make an online request through Service Oshawa or by telephone at 905.436.3311.

Alternatively, you may contact Oshawa's Mayor or the Councillor for your ward by clicking on this map.
